If we analyse the physical effort of people who practice endurance sports, we will see that very often their activity changes quite a lot, dynamic starts, quick changes of direction, rapid stops and speed-ups, and covering great distances at once with varied speed which smoothly interchanges, creating high-intensity training. In such conditions, the anaerobic mechanisms of energy production are completed by aerobic transformations which in the end constitute the dominant source of energy generated by the body to meet the demands of exercise. According to research results (3, 4), simultaneous intake of proteins/amino acids and carbohydrates, as in the case of STAND-BY™ recovery gel, increases the rate of muscle protein synthesis much more efficiently than carbohydrates alone. STAND-BY™ recovery gel is additionally enhanced by a portion of BCAA.
The most recent clinical trials on humans (5) show that branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) have a limiting effect on the damage to the muscles after exercise, observed as a decrease in the concentration of creatine kinase in the blood plasma (Chart 3) and the reduction of local muscle pain (Chart 4) thus accelerating muscle regeneration.

The remaining ingredients display a fully synergistic effect in supporting the metabolic processes related to protein and carbohydrate transformations (vit. B6, vit. B12, magnesium). The addition of antioxidants (vit. C, E) protects the proteins from the degrading influence of free radicals that form in great amounts during prolonged physical effort.
